I feel like I can’t keep up these days. I just got a new phone a couple of weeks ago, and now Verizon wants me to update — for free, of course. Then I go in, and they proceed to reach for my wallet with enticing new features.
I’m practicing — just smile at those eager, cute, young hopefuls and say, “No, thanks.” Sorry about your new floor mats. That’s a lesson for all to internalize — trust our own judgment.
Exactly! The pitch to upgrade (or in the case of the floormats, downgrade) can be overwhelmingly loud, though upgrading may not always actually improve the quality of your life. I’m internalizing the lesson as fast as I can!
